Procedure to File an Application Under RTI
|
|
Application can be submitted in writing, with prescribed fee of Rs. 50/-, directly
to the concerned Public Information Officer (PIO) or at any of the e-Sampark/Jan
Sampark and Gram Sampark Centres located in: |

These Centres will route the application to the concerned CPIO. The citizen will
be issued a receipt on submission of the application containing application no.,
date, and details of the concerned CPIOs. (Click here for List of CPIOs) |

- The Act envisages PIO in each department/agency to receive requests and provide
information. At sub-district levels assistant PIO receive applications/appeals/
complaints and forward it to appropriate PIO.
- Information sort by the citizen is to be provided within 30 days, 48 hours where
life or liberty is involved, 35 days where request is given to Asst. PIO, 40 days
where third party is involved and 45 days for human rights violation information
from listed security/ intelligence agencies.
- Time taken for calculation and intimation of fees excluded
from the time frame.
